Now I know this may sound odd, but as I was doing some research for my paper on the Dada movement, I came across this photograph of Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning, both artists recognized as part of DADA. Max was a painter, sculptor, graphic artist, and poet. Dorothea Tanning was a painter, sculptor, printmaker and writer. They eventually got married in Beverly Hills in a double wedding with Man Ray and Juliet Browner.
Not many pictures catch my attention like this one did. I’m sure it’s because of Tanning’s stern eyes. Or the fact that Ernst is looking away from the camera. I’m not exactly sure what it is.
But I know that it’s beautiful in its essence.
